5th Annual Kerrfest 2018-Announces Line Up Change & Friday Night Schedule
Oakville, ON (August 15, 2018) Kerrfest would like to announce that Trooper will now play on Friday night Sept. 7th at 9:30pm, and that Kim Mitchell will still play on Saturday September 8th at 9:30pm.
Also announcing the complete Friday Night September 7th, line up!!

Headlining and Performing Friday night, September 7th at 9:30pm is a band that has won practically every Canadian music award that there is and has been dubbed as “Canada’s Greatest Party Band.” They are the creators of the first Canadian album ever to hit 6 x Platinum and have been “Raising a little hell” across Canada ever since they were formed back in 1975. Trooper went on to win “Band of the Year” at the 1979 Juno Award’s and never looked back, selling out countless shows all across Canada. Universal has acknowledged them as “one of Canada’s top five selling bands of all time” and even the Vancouver Sun has gone to call them the “Canadian rock heroes of the first order” for the way that their performances captivate the crowd. Trooper’s ten studio albums have earned multiple gold and platinum awards and their record 6 x Platinum greatest hits album, Hot Shots, continues to be one of Universal Music Canada’s best-selling catalog CDs and one of the Countries most enduring party soundtracks.

Kim Mitchell

Headlining and Performing Saturday night, September 8th at 9:30pm is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who has achieved gold and multiplatinum sales status throughout his career. He began his start to fame leading the musically eclectic Max Webster in the late 1970’s and has since went on to sell over 1.5 million records. He is not “Easy to Tame” and has been blessing audiences with his ecstatic on stage performances since he went solo in 1982. Kerrfest 2018 is proud to present Kim Mitchell – http://kimmitchell.ca
Kim Mitchell went on to win three Juno Award’s in his solo career that included “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Album of the Year”. In the late 70’s and through the entirety of the 80’s, Kim has toured the largest arenas in the country and today continues to perform at large festivals nationally. He has recorded instant classic hits such as “Go For Soda’ and “Patio Lanterns” which have now become part of our Canadian musical landscape. Mitchell was also the host of the Kim Mitchell Show for Q107 between the years 2004-2015 while still maintaining a busy touring schedule. Though after his long and storied career, when Kim is asked what his greatest achievement is, he responds with “it’s in the couple of hours the band is onstage, being able to take people to a special place through our performance and music. When that happens, I’ve accomplished what I set out to do”.

Bill Durst
Performing Friday night, September 7th at 8:00pm is a Canadian Blues-Rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter who was written and recorded over 125 songs on 7 albums with 7 national radio chart hits. He has been spreading his entertainment to thousands of fortunate audiences by performing shows all across North America and Europe throughout his incredible career. Bill Durst is a London (ON) Music Hall of Famer who has been considered one of the best singer, songwriters, guitarist, and entertainers of his generation with his diverse talents. After the early success of his band Thundermug in North America and Europe, Bill Durst was acclaimed as one of the top songwriters in all of Canada. In 2003 Bill Durst went on to create his own “fuzzy, psychedelic, rockin blues band”, along with Thundermug alumni Joe DeAngelis. Since then they have taken off and gone on to produce five full length CDs which include his latest November 2015 release “Good Good Lovin”.

Vanessa Marie Carter

Performing Friday night, September 7th at 7:00pm is a female singer/songwriter who has just begun to take the country scene by storm. Recently in 2016, she won the ‘Emerging Artist Competition’ out of 270 applicants at the prestigious Boots & Hearts Festival. Since winning that competition she has gone on to open for acts such as Chase Rice in front of crowds of 40,000 plus which helped her gain popularity and ultimately led to her signing a huge record deal with Universal Music. Since then she has taken over the radio world and you can now hear many of her hit country song’s such as “Bless My Heart” played regularly. Mindful Audacity
Performing Friday night, September 7th at 6:00pm is a jazz-fusion band based out of Toronto, ON with strong roots in gospel, jazz, and R&B. They have been performing together since their teens and show no signs of slowing down. Last year they dropped their debut EP which became in an instant hit. They manage to tell a story of pain and courage that is reflective of the groups identities. They hope to captivate you with their music as they already have with many others. About the 5th Annual Kerrfest

KERRFEST is an outdoor music festival that has taken place in Kerr Village, Oakville, Ontario, the first weekend after Labor Day every September, since 2014. The festival is organized by the Kerr Village BIA and attracts thousands of people from the local area and surrounding Ontario Region. Every year the festival features major musical performances with past bands such as Loverboy, David Wilcox, Jim Cuddy, The Spoons, April Wine, Big Wreck, Bill Durst, Steven Page, and Cowboy Junkies just to name a few. The streets are busy with local merchant sales, patios, food samples, special offers and much more for every age and taste. This year on Friday, September 7th; Saturday, September 8th; and Sunday, September 9th; visit Kerr Village and enjoy the music, food and fun that KERRFEST has to offer. This year Kerrfest has been modified to offer Kerrfest Kids in Westwood Park on Sunday, September 9th.
