Dumpster Drive – FILL IT TO THE BRIM

With the sudden passing of Ward 3 School Board Trustee Chris Parkinson on May 30, 2019, there has been a huge hole left in the area of food donation facilitating. Through his work with Erich’s Cupboard, Chris was in charge of collecting food donations which he made sure filled food pantries in Hamilton and he even brought food directly to families in need. To honour his memory and to make sure those in need are helped, we are taking the wheel with a magnanimous force!

Thanks to a generous donation of a 20 yard bin (11’ long x 8’ wide x 6’ tall) from Bin There Dump That we can embark on our grandiose mission to FILL IT TO THE BRIM! On Saturday, June 22nd from 10am until 10pm we will be accepting non-perishable food donations.

We are teaming up with Erich’s Cupboard to help fill the pantries at Mission Services of Hamilton, The Hamilton Dream Center, and Interval House of Hamilton all in the memory of Chris and the efforts he put into our community.

This week, for those who cannot make it to the Saturday event, we have donation bins located at Mud & Suds on Ottawa Street, The Ottawa Street Farmers Market, This Ain’t Hollywood, Westcliffe Mall, and Vagabond Saints.
